My favourite smoothie these days is one I make with green tea, half an orange, a carrot or two, a banana, and vanilla yogurt. It’s such a nice sunny colour too, if I had a little sun room I think it would be nice to have a bright wall exactly that colour, especially in the winter. Éowyn likes this, too! I’m so glad she’s finally starting to like smoothies.

She didn’t like waiting while I took the picture. 🙂

but instead of vanilla yogurt i’m going to put in soy protein powder which will undoubtedly detract from its awesomeness, but Gwen Junior is (still?!) a vegetarian, so…

do you use a blender? do you have to chop the carrots up tiny? i have a good blender but I worry cause carrots are hard…

i think my favourite thing to have with this would be the oj. i made the green tea really strong today and i didn’t like that it dominated the other flavours – but i guess if you like green tea then that would be a good thing!

i don’t chop them up tiny, just into inch long pieces. i don’t know what kind of blender it is but it isn’t top of the line or cheap – about 60$ and i think as these things go you can gauge the quality of a blender by it’s price? this is really good with orange juice, or milk, too, or vanilla soy milk. i think i added green tea to it one time when i ran out of oj – i don’t usually have juice so it works out well. it’s a thin sort of smoothie, kind of like a SOBE drink – i like that, then you don’t feel bloated and lazy afterwards 🙂
